BREAKING NEWS: IKPEAZU GOES BACK TO CLASSROOM
Governor Okezie Ikpeazu is offering a free tutorial services to the students of Abia State University, Uturu.
This is in line with his promise during ABSU 24th convocation ceremony to create students/Governor relationship and to help improve academic activities in the University.
Governance is not only about building roads and managing economy etc.
Dr. Ikpeazu understands that governance includes human development which makes up effective leadership and inspires a difference in improving learning. This idea may sound new or controversial but what’s far less clear, even after several decades of school renewal efforts, is just how effective leadership matters, how important its impacts are in promoting the learning of all students, and what the essential ingredients of successful leadership are.
Prof. Ikonne, the VC ABSU, is justifying this assertion by taking giant strides that are developing the institution and improving the living condition of both staff and students of this renowned University.
No wonder it turns out that effective leadership not only matters: it is second only to teaching among school-related factors in its impact on student learning.
Standing here, in this lecture hall watching my Governor, Dr. Ikpeazu teach and inspired by him, I ask myself "Newman Ubani, what manner of man can be endowed with such wisdom and intelligence as Dr. Ikpeazu?" But the answer is not farfetched. Dr. Ikpeazu is a man with focus, a vision oriented leader with love for his people and committed to giving 'only' the best for the betterment of all Abians.
Indeed, Abia State is blessed with men of reputable integrity and of high intelligence on the saddles of leadership presently.
ABIA NMA NMA NU!
